My main goal was to build a realistic interior scene while focusing on modular meshes and trim sheets. I wanted the apartment to feel lived in, with natural interior lighting that helped bring out the mood of the space. I used RT reflections, shadows, global illumination and translucency to push the scene as far as possible with my main aim for visual fidelity being photorealistic results with accurate material and camera values.
The environment was built using a modular workflow, with reusable meshes and trim sheets to keep the scene efficient and flexible. Nanite was also used on selected assets, such as the carpets, where the extra detail helped improve the final look and in those cases it didn't detract from performance and added a nice fluffy look to the floor.
